A target is set, a pawn has been re-activated and we have FINALLY seen Elissa's inner Rachel Reilly, but everything could be flipped upside down. Welcome back to Blog Big Brother, where like the OTEV the Broken-Hearted Beaver, we're upset that some of the evicted housemates got the boot too early because now we're left with this bunch.
Before we begin, hopefully you noticed something a little bit different on your visit over here. We have a new header image!! Cue Rachel scream, "Yeeeeaaaaaah!!!" Look at that, me getting all technologically savvy on you guys! I think the bigger achievement, however, is that I finally figured out how to fit the image on the whole screen. No congratulations are in order just yet though because we have a recap to get through! Lets go! In honor of the veto competition, instead of points, we'll be giving and taking away LOVE LETTERS!
We got to see Aaryn's opinion following the nomination ceremony. Aaryn feels nominating Helen is best for her and her alliance, yet 12 hours earlier she said what's best for her is to nominate Spencer & Elissa. I agree with her gut instinct to nominate Spencer, but I think that just shows how strong of a manipulator Amanda can be.
At the beginning, Helen feels safe because she believes McCrae can control Amanda and vote to keep her. Ha, um Helen, what game are you playing? Last time I checked, Amanda physically removes the pants from McCrae and then has her way with him. All metaphorically speaking of course. This blog can't be tainted by Messy McCranda Mania… I'm totally kidding, of course it can, but we'll save it for another time.
Alright, so I'm actually feeling a bit bad for Helen at this point. At many times as I wanted to buy a #STFUHelen shirt because I've just been tired of saying it so much. But, Helen has been a classy, true Big Brother fan from Day 1. She played the game hard, didn't take much personally (which actually was ANNOYING when it came to Aaryn) and loves just being in the house. Unlike someone like Spencer, she's earned her spot in the game. But alas, Helen's also earned that spot on the block. Side Note: I used the word "alas." We're reaching Harvard quality writing right here. If you're reading this, you'd probably ace the bar exam. Studies show there's a 98.63% chance it would happen.
In the cockpit, we get to see Andy lie through his teeth and shed some crocodile tears to the defenseless Helen. He is a good lier, I have to give him that (+15 Love Letters). Andy's been playing Helen for a little bit now, and she hasn't quite caught onto it just yet. Helen goes on to say either her or Elissa need to come off the block so Spencer can be backdoored, while Andy just nods his head. Literally not even 2 seconds later Andy relays that information to Spencer.
Mid make-out sesh in the colored room, McCranda is interrupted by Elissa. THANK YOU ELISSA, that music only meant things were about to get worse! Elissa's upset face is so funny by the way. It doesn't seem real. It kind of looks like she's pretending to be upset, just to cover up that she's constipated. I love it! Anyways, regardless of the making-out, the pouting or the inability to go to the bathroom, Amanda starts to turn Elissa to her side in the likely chance Helen is evicted. Amanda tells Elissa about Helen's breakdown in the HOH room so Elissa will turn on Helen (which wouldn't happen because the #MomSquad holds strong) and so Elissa can trust Amanda. Amanda is always one step ahead of everyone else and it's gotten her to this point (+10 Love Letters). Elissa of course isn't fooled as easily (+5 Love Letters).
It's time to pick players for the Veto Competition!
- Aaryn draws GinaMarie
- Helen draws Spencer (which makes his heart "flutter"… hehe)
- Elissa draws Houseguest Choice and picks a reluctant Andy
- This means Amanda & McCrae were not chosen to compete
After the players have been picked, Andy plays it up to Helen that he will try to win the veto and then use it on her. However, he then runs up to the HOH room and says that he CAN NOT win the veto because he doesn't want to make the decision. If I was in that game and Andy was my ally, like he is to Amanda, I would be pissed. If Andy is supposed to be a true ally, he should fight for the group. Winning a competition and taking a stand is a good thing! Amanda put it pretty well, "Andy is a nice, clean, preppy boy, who doesn't like to get his hands dirty."
Andy feels he's "damned if I do, damned if I don't" when it comes to fighting for the veto. Well Andy, if you don't fight for the veto, Helen & Amanda will both be mad. If you do fight for the veto, at worst, only one of them will be mad. You can figure that one out on your own.
The Veto Competition is yet another Big Brother classic! OTEV!!! Just think of the memories that have been made in this competition. The Janelle & James fight, where Janelle conveniently "breaks" her middle finger nail, Casey's return as OTEV the ape, and the bounce of Ragan's CD off of OTEV the Broadway Clam onto Enzo's head. Hopefully, another one of those memories will be made today!
Right off the bat, this is a very bothersome beaver, with a voice worse than BB5's Holly… so these houseguests better find the love letters asap!
I thought our love would've really lasted,
But you're rant about wine left me flabbergasted.
Of course, instead of Jeremy, all GM can find in this round is Nick… I'm thinking more like she was looking for Nick and completely forgot she was playing a competition. She was just so funny though. I'm laughing writing this, thinking about her falling into the water, sliding down the slide and complaining about wanting to hear a Nick rhyme. -5 Love Letters for being the first out GM and just being a mess.
You left in a hurry and boy did it hurt,
But at least you went home in your grizzly bear shirt.
It's a fight to the finish this round! Helen is halfway up the ramp when Elissa dives through the water and somehow lands on top of a log, eliminating Helen and making everyone very happy.
Your last week was spent with an upside down frown,
Thanks to a veto that made you a clown.
So as Andy dilly-dallies in finding a love letter, Helen is taking notice. Then, when he and Elissa race to the finish, Elissa shoves him to the side, straight into the log (+10 Love Letters to Elissa). I'm thinking this is up there with Janelle vs James tug-of-war. Janelle still wins of course!
Your body looked like it was chiseled from stone,
After being evicted 5th, I felt so alone.
Aaryn gets eliminated after she can't find Howard fast enough. Serves you right Aaryn.
I thought we'd be rich when you earned that 5K,
But you took the veto and gave the money away.
In the 5th and final round, it's Spencer vs Elissa. Pretty much both are fighting not to be the pawn this week, but ultimately Elissa takes home the crown (+50 Love Letters)! Props to Spencer though, he came close (+5 Love Letters)
Elissa is the first person to win the veto twice this season. It's crazy to think no one has won it twice yet, but I think it's even crazier to think that Aaryn has already won 4 HOHs! Yikes!
In the kitchen, Amanda is once again brutally honest with Elissa, telling her Spencer will go up, but Helen will go home, so next week Elissa won't target Amanda if she were to win HOH. Again, Amanda asserts her dominance, telling Elissa not to campaign for Helen to stay because it will only put a bigger target on Elissa!! Dammit Elissa, do NOT get sucked in by Amanda.
Later on, Elissa & Helen are cleaning the bathroom. Elissa drops some hints to Helen that YES HELEN, you are the target. So after Elissa uses that veto on herself, I recommend you take it from her and just smack some people with. It could be Aaryn, it could be Amanda, it could be Andy. You can choose Helen, just do it. Just whatever you do, don't become a BB8 Wamber and cry to the house.
It may not be time for a veto smack just yet, but it's time for a smack of reality up in the HOH. Aaryn & Helen are talking about Andy and how EVERYTHING they say is reported back to Amanda. If Aaryn farted at 12:03pm, Amanda would know by 12:05pm. That's how ridiculous it is.
Once again we see the return of #WineGate. Aaryn accuses Amanda of being "rude and bitchy" for telling people to check teeth (-10 Love Letters). Granted Amanda can be "rude and bitchy," it that case Aaryn was wrong and still 2 months later she plays the victim. If everyone in the house hates her, that's okay to drink the wine, right? No Aaryn. Take that sass and those eyebrows somewhere else. BUT, this argument does put a crack in 3AM and Aaryn considers nominating Amanda… but does she?
Aaryn has named Spencer as the replacement nominee (-20 Love Letters) because, and this is what you said Aaryn, "This is the corner I'm being pushed into." Give. Me. A. Break (-20 Love Letters from Aaryn). I'm really sick of your copouts. You have won 4 HOHs, why don't you do something you want and take responsibility for it. Psh, well anyways, the ultimate pawn has regained his position. Production should probably just stitch his name into the seat :D
In other news, McCrae was a BB no show this episode. He was on it like 1 ½ times (-5 Love Letters).
Additionally, in just a few hours, we'll see 1 houseguest out and 1 right back in. Unlike me, hopefully all the little jury members are getting a good night's sleep. Tomorrow could just top this season's double eviction as the best episode of the season! Either Candice, Judd, Jessie or most likely Helen will re-enter the game. Personally, I didn't really like the battle to return in season 13. Live competitions are over before you know it and at the end you're wondering what just happened. This is how I would like Thursday night to play out:
- Helen gets evicted and walks out of the house
- Julie then tells her she'll have a chance to re-enter the game and brings out Candice, Judd & Jessie
- As everyone is waiting to be let outside for the HOH competition, the doorbell rings
- ALL of the jury members enter the house (this would be AMAZING to see LIVE)
- Julie then calls everyone to the living room to say that one of them gets a chance to stay in the house
- Everyone goes to the backyard for an endurance HOH
- The first 3 jury members to fall off must head back to the jury house, while the remaining juror gets to continue on and fight for HOH
What do you think? What would you like to see the jurors do to get back in the game and who would you like to come back??
